Emerging reports indicate that movements by Israeli colonial settlers are encroaching upon territories in Syria and Lebanon, illuminating a dangerous trajectory with profound consequences for regional stability and sovereignty. These developments are viewed as manifestations of an expansionist agenda associated with the Israeli settler-colonial apparatus, meticulously designed to cement military occupation and territorial hegemony across neighboring lands. Cloaked in distorted biblical narratives and fabricated security justifications, illegal incursions are seen as calculated attempts to remap the political and geographic realities of the region, flagrant violations of international law and universally accepted norms.

Dimitri Diliani, spokesperson for Fateh’s Reformist Democratic Faction, issued an indictment of these Israeli actions, stating: “What is being witnessed is a systematic assault on international borders, imposed through illegal and unilateral military aggression. The Israeli colonial settler movement operates with total impunity, bolstered by state complicity and an absolute disdain for international law.”

The maneuvers of terrorist settler organizations, such as Nachala and Uri Tsafon, underscore the severity of this threat. Plans for colonial settlements in southern Lebanon and Syrian territories have been documented, aiming to obliterate the historical and national identities of indigenous populations and replace them with foreign Zionist settlers. This agenda has been condemned by Diliani, who declared: “This is a coordinated campaign of illegal territorial annexation, brazenly violating the sovereignty of neighboring states and undermining the region’s fragile stability.”

Historical context was elaborated upon by Diliani: “The genocidal and supremacist Zionist ideology of colonization is not new. Since the 1948 Nakba, efforts have been made by the state of Israel to fragment Palestinian and Arab lands, erasing indigenous identities through terror, genocide, and ethnic cleansing. Today, this terrorist supremacist vision has extended beyond Palestine, targeting Syria and Lebanon. The concept of so-called ‘Abraham’s Borders,’ which stretches Israeli borders to the Euphrates, reveals the continuity of a distorted and supremacist narrative aimed at regional domination under the guise of biblical myth.”

Alarming statistics were highlighted by Diliani: Over 700 Israeli settler families have been mobilized by Nachala to establish illegal settlements in Gaza, while Uri Tsafon, another organization founded in memory of war criminal Yisrael Socol, has amassed thousands of supporters for its illegal activities in Lebanon and Syria. These Israeli terrorist organizations expose the readiness of the colonial settler movement to act swiftly, with initial moves often preceding official state endorsement but eventually receiving full political and military backing from the Israeli government.

As these troubling developments continue, warnings of dire repercussions have been issued by Diliani: “The international community must confront the reality that this is not only a Palestinian struggle but a regional and global one. The unchecked proliferation of Israeli colonial settlements and the associated war crimes of dispossession are sowing the seeds for more catastrophic humanitarian and geopolitical crises.”
