Palyouth The most prominent of what came in the statement of Dimitri Diliani, a member of the Revolutionary Council and spokesman for the reformist and democratic movement in Fatah:

Diliani expresses deep concern about the possibility of Israel's inclusion in the U.S. Visa Waiver Program (VWP).

Diliani highlights that "the proposed integration of Israel into the VWP should not be viewed in isolation but within a broader political context.

It is crucial to recognize that this potential step is publicly interpreted and politically exploited by the current extremist Israeli government as a reward for its war crimes against the Palestinian people and its repeated disregard for international law and standards."

These decisions come amid Israel's continued unlawful expansion of settlements in the West Bank, blatant disregard for Palestinian rights, and ongoing refusal to acknowledge our fundamental right to self-determination.

Diliani emphasizes that "this continued settlement expansion, along with Israel's policies of criminalizing the Palestinian people and war crimes committed by its military against civilians, has consistently contributed to increased tension and instability in the region, and the idea of rewarding such behavior only encourages its escalation."

Furthermore, Diliani draws attention to disturbing statements and violent terrorist acts by senior ministers and members of the ruling Israeli government coalition that promote anti-Palestinian racism. He states, "We cannot ignore the concerning escalation in extremist rhetoric and actions within the Israeli government, actions that directly undermine the possibility of a peaceful resolution to the long-standing conflict imposed by the Israeli state on our people."

Diliani explains that the Democratic Reform Bloc firmly believes that admitting Israel into the VWP at this time would have detrimental implications, seemingly acknowledging inciteful actions and rewarding a government with a horrific record of violating international standards and Palestinian rights.

Diliani asserts, "Rewarding such behavior contradicts principles of justice and equality, jeopardizing the possibility of achieving lasting peace and stability in the region." The Democratic Reform Bloc strongly urges the United States to refrain from including the Israeli occupation state in the VWP. Instead, we call for an approach guided by principles that prioritize compliance with international law. The future stability of the Middle East requires more than this.
