The health condition of the prisoner suffering from cancer, Asif Al-Rifai, deteriorated
Palyouth Thursday evening, the Prisoners' Club reported that a new deterioration occurred in the health condition of prisoner Assef Al-Rifai, who suffers from cancer, and he was transferred yesterday from the "Ramla Prison Clinic" to the Israeli "Assaf Harofeh" Hospital.
The Prisoner's Club explained, in a statement, that the Israeli occupation continues its crime against the prisoner Al-Rifai (21 years old), from the town of Kafr Ain, in the Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate, by arresting and detaining him in the "Ramla Prison Clinic", despite the continuing risks to his life, and his dire need for his family, especially... The recently performed CT scans showed no improvement in his health condition.
He stated that the Israeli occupation and its various agencies, including the occupation prison administration, continue to carry out the crime against the prisoner Al-Rifai, through many systematic tools, as the process of restraining him during his treatment in the hospital constituted the most prominent acts of torture and abuse to which he is subjected.
The Prisoners' Club once again held the Israeli occupation prison administration fully responsible for the fate of prisoner Al-Rifai, and the fate of all sick prisoners, calling for the necessity of serious intervention in order to pressure the Israeli occupation to release him and the sick prisoners, knowing that Al-Rifai is still detained, awaiting trial.
It is noteworthy that the Israeli occupation authorities detain more than 700 sick prisoners in their prisons, including about 200 prisoners suffering from chronic diseases, including 24 suffering from cancer and tumors of varying degrees, and the condition of prisoner Al-Rifai is considered the most difficult and severe.
