On Tuesday, Israeli occupation authorities notified residents of Al-Duyuk Al-Tahna village, west of Jericho, of their intent to demolish three homes within a week and halt construction work on 14 other Palestinian homes.

According to Alaa Fahidat, a field activist in Jericho, Israeli occupation forces entered Al-Duyuk Al-Tahna and distributed demolition notices for three homes while also ordering a halt to construction work on several others. These homes vary in age, with some being decades old and already inhabited, while others are relatively new constructions. The justification provided for the demolition orders is the alleged lack of building permits.

Local sources have indicated that these new demolition notices bring the total number of homes threatened with demolition in the village to 50.

This action by Israeli authorities continues to raise concerns about the displacement and dispossession of Palestinian families from their homes in the occupied territories.
